In addition, network managers can use the same Cisco Secure ACS solution to manage the administrative roles and groups and control how they change, access, and configure the network internally. With ACS you can manage and administer user access for Cisco IOS routers, virtual private networks (VPNs), firewalls, dial and broadband DSL, cable access solutions, storage, content, voice over IP (VoIP), Cisco wireless solutions, and Cisco Catalyst switches via IEEE 802.1x access control. Up to version 3.1, Cisco Secure ACS has been available as software for Windows installations.
